Le guarnizioni IGR sono formate da un elemento di tenuta in PTFE energizzato da un O-Ring. Ne risulta una tenuta eccezionale a pressioni elevate e una buona tenuta statica. La guarnizione IGR, data la sua forma costruttiva, è una guarnizione a doppio effetto. Questa forma costruttiva in versione standard prevede una combinazione di PTFE-Bronzo / NBR 70.
